There We GO!
Herzogenrath, Germany:
Two and a half more days until we are on our way to Duesseldorf Airport. Yesterday we had time to pack our suitcases. While Jan is about done packing his, Noelle is still figuring out how many outfits to bring, which shirt matches with which pants etcetera. She’ll probably end up repeating the pack-unpack-pack routine a few more times. Jan is happy to be a man…
For months (years?) we’ve both been wanting to attend an NBA game. Timing couldn’t be more perfect with the Playoffs in full effect. Lakers still being in the game (Noelle: “GO LAKERS!”) and Jan being awesome enough to want to go to see a team he (supposably, strongly) dislikes. ( Between you and me: it’s even been said he’s gonna buy a Lakers jersey :O ). Last time at midnight exactly, there was a presale for Lakers Supporters. Jan was smart enough to sign up for the newsletter, so he got a presale code. Fifteen minutes before midnight we were already on the Ticketmaster website, with the code and CC number ready to go, cuz we were guessing tickets would be gone in no time. When the clock striked midnight we had already been frantically refreshing the page every 5 seconds… Until at one point I saw the textfield with “Lakers Supporters Presale Code” and for a minute or 5 it was like we were on the Stock Market. Time was ticking as we were trying to get our hands on tickets. Of course, the cheapest were already gone within probably (literally) 5 seconds, but we got the $110 tickets/each, which will give us this view:

It’s not a bad price for the Western Conference Finals, LA Lakers - Phoenix Suns on May 19th! Woohoo. Parking will be a nice $20, but hey, welcome to America, where everything is cheap; but not really. It’s worth it though, another dream is booked! :)
Now it’s weekend, we have some last minute shopping and cleaning to do and then take a deep breath and some rest before we go on this crazy adventure. Probably won’t be blogging before we take off, but definitely (not making promises here!) will try and post something the day of arrival and every day of our trip, whether it be a blog, a photo, a video or something else. Keep checking back :)
